Hiking in Romanian Carpathians. Fagaras Mountains. From Valea Rea to Triangular Lake and Moldoveanu Peak

Day 1

Sboghitesti – Slatina – Lake Vasalatu – Valea Rea (Bad Valley) – sheep farm from Valea Rea (1.460 m)
Transport: by car
Distance: 40 km
Condition: country road and forest. Can be covered by most cars.
Duration: 1½ – 2 hours

Sheep farm from Valea Rea (1.460 m) – The Valea Rea Falls – West Valea Rea Lake / Triangular Lake (2.156 m)
Trail sign: red triangle
Duration: 3 – 3½ hours [luggage for 2 days]

Campsite: near Triangular Lake
Can spend the night and at Vistea Refuge, 30 minutes from the campsite near Triangular Lake.
Spring water: next to the Triangular Lake

Day 2

We leave most of the equipment at the tents and go to Moldoveanu Peak.

West Valea Rea Lake / Triangular Lake (2.156 m) – Portita Vistei (2.310 m)

After we packed the tents we continue the trail to the sheep farm from Valea Rea.
